About us: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for primary care in NHS Oxfordshire
"Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a continuing learning process that compliments formal undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. CPD will play an important role in the delivery of the new Revalidation system. CPD requires doctors to maintain and improve their standards across all areas of their practice. CPD should encourage and support specific changes in practice and career development, and have a role to play in helping doctors to keep up to date when they are not practising." Guidance on Continuing Professional Development, General Medical Council, April 2004.
The role of the CPD tutor is to support all individuals working in primary care to optimise their professional development. We provide support for the appraisal process in Oxfordshire and enable GP's to provide information to be used in the process of revalidation.
We facilitate high quality education programmes and provide advice to organisations, practices and individuals.
Over the next 5 years
we will be offering a series of updates that will cover your
CPD needs for revalidation
Revalidation will be a hot topic for this
and the next few years. Do read what we have posted on the
GP appraisal pages. We will keep you regularly updated.
