All NHS and
GP practice staff across NHS South Central now have access to BMJ Health Intelligence.
This web-based information resource has two sections, public health and commissioning,
and seeks to gather together evidence, data, policies, targets, guidelines
and local initiatives. It is particularly aimed at PCT commissioning managers,
GPs, public health researchers, educators and students.
Access is via NHS Athens:
go to http://healthintelligence.bmj.com and
use the 'Athens sign in' tab. If you don't already have an NHS Athens account,
go to https://register.athensams.net/nhs/nhsscsha/,
and follow the set up instructions. Please do this on an NHS computer if you
can, so that your username and password is returned straightaway. Otherwise,
your application will need to be manually verified and the process takes 10-15
days.
